Citrix Client Update instructions

If you are using Citrix remotely, IT Operations recommend updating Citrix client to the newest version available online.
Follow the below instructions to upgrade your existing client.

Windows Mac OSX

Internet Explorer Version 10 & 11

 

Note: The Citrix Client will NOT work with 64 Bit version of Internet Explorer. You MUST use the 32 Bit version. Internet Explorer Version 10 & 11

1. On the browser go to http://remote.husky.ca Remote.husky.ca

2. Click on the nearest region which will bring you to the login page

3. Login with your username, password and passcode (pin+token). 
You will be presented with following screen if your Citrix client is outdated.

4. Check off I agree with the Citrix license agreement and click on INSTALL

5. When presented with below screen click on Run

6. Click on Yes again when presented with below screen

7. You will then be presented the Citrix Receiver Step screen. Click "Next".

8. Place a check in the checkbox to agree to the License Agreement and then click "Install".

9. Once installed click "Finish".

10. You will notice a yellow bar at the top of the screen, click on it and choose "Allow" to run the Citrix Add-On.


11. If prompt with the following screen, select the checkbox to now show the warning again and hit "Allow".


The Citrix will log you in now automatically however to ensure all the settings has take place the computer needs to be restarted. Close your browser and restart your computer.



Upgrade has been completed, one more step to go. Continue with below instructions.

Adding Citrix sites to Trusted Zone

In order for the Citrix applications to function without any trouble we will require to add the respective Citrix sites to the Trusted Sites within Internet Explorer. 

12. On the browser go to http://remote.husky.ca  Remote.husky.ca

       Click on the nearest region which will bring you to login page (do not login yet)

13. Click the cog icon in the top right hand corner of the the screen then "Internet Options".

14. Click on Security Tab and select Trusted Sites

15. Click on Sites and Under Add this website to the zone: enter the address for your region as below
Europe/EMEA : https://luxconnect.husky.ca/
Asia: https://shaconnect.husky.ca/
Bolton/North America: https://bolconnect.husky.ca

Click on Add


Click on Close and on OK to get out of internet options menu.

You have successfully completed the upgrade process.
You may login and start using Citrix Applications.

 

Mac OS 10.6 or 10.7 – Safari

1. On Safari and go to http://remote.husky.ca Remote.husky.ca

2. Click on the nearest region and Login with your username, password and passcode (pin+token). 
You will be presented with following screen if your Citrix client is outdated. Click the “INSTALL” button

3. A dialog box will appear asking to “Confirm installation is complete”. 
The Citrix client will download (5.5mb) and will appear within your download folder on the OS X toolbar (dock). 

4. Double click the “Citrix online plug-in (web).dmg” file and you will be presented the following Window. Double click the “Install Citrix Receiver.pkg

5. The package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed and click Continue.

6. Click Continue to the Introduction page

7. Click Continue to the Software License Agreement page and then continue again to agree to the terms.

8. Click install to the “Standard Installation Type

9. After the client installs, you will receive a msg that the installation was successful. Click Close.


10. You may then select the “Continue” button.

11. Relaunch Safari and log back into the http://remote.husky.ca site. Select your appropriate region and login.

12. If you are presented the following screen to trust the Citrix Receiver plugin select "Trust"

13. If you are not presented your Citrix application, head over to your Safari Preference and select the Security tab then "Website Settings".

14. Use the drop down box to select "Always Allow" or "Allow" for your appropriate region then click Done

15. Restart Safari and login
